Feline Triple Test
Screen test for feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV), feline leukemia virus (FeLV) and heartworm disease.
Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) is a retrovirus belonging to the lentivirus subfamily. It infects the cells of a cat’s immune system and can kill, damage, or affect the cells’ normal functions. In short: It can compromise the immune system. FIV only affects cats and cannot be spread to humans or other animals.
Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV) is a retrovirus belonging to the coronavirus subfamily, which means it is a cancer-causing virus. FeLV only affects cats and cannot be spread to humans or other animals.
Heartworm disease (HW) is caused by a parasite, Dirofilaria immitis, which is spread by mosquitos. While cats are susceptible to heartworm, they are fairly resistant, imperfect hosts. Cats acquire heartworm far less than dogs in the same geographic location, with only 5-20% affected.
Easily implement feline health protocols as recommended by the AAFP (American Association of Feline Practitioners) and the American Heartworm Society. Noble Manes Cattery & Rescue will conduct this test at week 13 (1 week before go-home date).
Fecal DX Panel with Giardia
Laboratory Immunoassays screening test for Parasites. Testing includes the following:
Fecal Ova and Parasites, Flea Tapeworm Antigen, Giardia Antigen, Hookworm Antigen, Roundworm Antigen, Whipworm Antigen
Most Veterinarians recommend this test be a part of the foundation testing for any new family member. Noble Manes Cattery & Rescue will conduct this test at week 13 (1 week before go-home date).
